STAINED GLASS

Learn the traditional stained glass method of copper foiling! Students will be instructed in the copper foil technique and invited to apply it to both traditional and non-traditional projects. This course is open to beginning and intermediate level students. Beginning students will learn the fundamental techniques of stained glass. Intermediate-level students will be encouraged to expand their copper foiling skills by exploring the world of three-dimensional objects. Some course materials are provided however, students are expected to purchase a number of materials as listed in the materials section online. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a pair of safety glasses on the first day. Limit eight students. Adult classes are open to students ages 16+

    Students will need to purchase the following materials:

    • Canfield 60/40 Solder 
    • 4 pack Copper Foil Tape 
    • Liquid Flux/ Flux Brush 
    • Cork Backed Steel Ruler
    • Aluminum head push pins
    • Sponge
    • Cotton balls

     

    CCS requires a COVID-19 vaccination record (whether vaccinated or non-vaccinated) for all faculty, students and staff, including continuing education students, for the Winter 2022 semester.  All people on campus are required to wear masks indoors and adhere to any additional policies put in place by individual departments. 

    Glass students are required to purchase their own blow hose. A link to purchase can be found here.
