Explore the world of computer-generated imagery by creating characters, their stories and environments. Create maquettes of your character in clay and learn to visualize your creations in three dimensions. Investigate the latest industry software and tools to bring your ideas to life.

THIS IS A GOOD CONCENTRATION IF YOU: Play video games. Visualize the look of characters and settings when reading. Daydream in full color and three dimensions.

Detailed Description

In this course, students will be introduced to ZBrush, software widely used among game development studios. The class will focus on is character/creature creation in ZBrush.  Starting with ideation and character development students will follow the pipeline of creating a character/creature, which incorporates modeling, texturing, and rendering. Students will also create character maquettes under the guidance of a sculptor. By studying form and movement of the body, students will create a dynamic character pose in a 3D model.

Final payment of remaining balance after deposit is due June 1.

Resident: $3,595
