DRAWING HEADS AND FACES - ADRW 176 OT

Heads and faces can be some of the trickiest things to draw. Learn the basic proportions and underlying structure of the human head to create more realistic drawings for figurative work.

Saturday, 1-3pm.

March 6-20 

Three sessions

Required Materials and Tools:

  • Pencils (2B, 6B)
  • Copy paper (8 ½ x 11” non-glossy for sketching/planning)
  • Drawing Pad (18 X 24"), white or soft pastel color)
  • Charcoal Pencil (6B or extra soft)
  • 100% Cotton Cloth (old face cloth is fine)
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • Magic Rub Eraser (white)
  • Krylon, Workable Matte Spray Fixative (use outdoors with a face mask)

Suggested Materials and Tools:

  • Kneaded eraser
  • Conté pencils (Dark Blue, Red, Brown, Black)
  • Chamois Cloth
  • X-Acto knife (#1 with #11 blades)
  • Drafting tape or Artist tape
  • Blending stumps
  • Sketchbook, 8 1/2 X 11" (white pages)
  • Graphite Pencils (HB, B, 2B, 4B)
  • Sandpaper sharpening strip/p
  • T-Square (24” plastic)
  • Newsprint paper (18 X 24")
  • Portfolio (presentation case with clear plastic pages), 18 x 24”
  • Toolbox, to house supplies
