MURAL PAINTING PREP ADRW 251 A
Get ready to take on a mural project on your own. Instruction includes learning the tools and techniques you will need for designing your own mural, creating color studies, scaling it to wall size, and preparing to paint. We will create a large sized sample painting that will be a great way for you to practice using the tools and techniques needed for creating your own mural. At the end of this class you should be ready to tackle a full size wall. Limit 15 students. Adult classes are open to students ages 16+

Erin Brott-Holtzman is a Michigan based visual artist & educator. Inspired by nature and driven by curiosity to investigate the nuances that exist in daily life, she strives to visually express and capture these occurrences through paint.
Required Materials:
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Colored Pencils/Markers
- Sketchbook at least 8.5x11
- Colored Pencils/Markers
- 30x40" Canvas - Can be stretched or pre-gessoed rolled canvas. (**** You do not need to purchase a canvas prior to class beginning. We will talk about options for practice mural surfaces later in the course such as canvas, wood panel, cardboard, or masonite)
- S, M, & L Paint Brushes
- Chroma Acrylic Mural Paint or Behr color samples (****You do not need to purchase paint until we talk about which colors and how much you will need and then make a purchase list later in the course)
Optional Supplies:
Vine charcoal
Ruler or yardstick
Book: Wonder Walls
iPAD with Procreate (for creating digital sketches)
